In this post, I will be going over how to get website traffic for free. There are lots of ways to get traffic to your website or capture page. If you have read my previous posts then you already know a few.

Social Media Marketing

If you’re looking to drive website traffic without spending money on advertising, harnessing the power of social media sites can be an effective strategy. With billions of users worldwide, platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn offer immense opportunities to reach and engage with your target audience. Article Marketing

This is basically writing articles and distributing them to article networks. Perhaps the best technique I have found for article writing is Will Allen’s $592 A Day Sending Simple Emails. You can get it for less than $10 here.

He even gives you done-for-you articles and shows you how to make them unique. He also gives you a free traffic method cheat sheet.

But if you don’t have the money right now (which I totally get, been there) then you can check Google for a list of article sites to distribute your articles to.

Forum Marketing

If you are unfamiliar with what a forum is, it is essentially an online discussion forum where a group of people gathers to talk about a specific issue or topic. For just about every subject, there is a forum. You can use a search engine like Google to find forums to post to by entering your niche and “forum”

You should look for forums with a signature section. If the forum allows it, you can submit a brief advertisement in the signature section and a link to your website.

Make sure a forum you join is relevant to your niche before you join. A niche is the segment of market you are in such as weight loss or making money online.

Make sure to complete the profile page when you sign up for a forum by describing who you are and the type of business you are in. Additionally, you should take the time to become familiar with the forum rules.

Be sure to include useful information about the topic being discussed when you begin posting. Be as considerate and helpful as you can. Starting off by advertising your site or taking any other action that would appear spammy is not a good idea. Allow your signature section to serve as your promotional tool.

Blog Commenting

Commenting on other people’s blogs is a fantastic free strategy to improve website traffic.

You can post your website address in the URL field of several blogs. Put your link in the URL field rather than the comment section. If you post it in the comments, it can appear spammy.

It’s important to leave thoughtful, original comments on other people’s blogs that are relevant to the topic. Tell them what you think about the subject, offer criticism of what they wrote, explain why you might feel the way you do about the subject, and finally express gratitude for the knowledge.

Commenting on other people’s blogs is a fantastic free strategy to improve website traffic.

Avoid using the same blog remark on multiple blogs by copying and pasting it. Each comment should be unique.

Viral Mailers and Safelists

Promoting a splash page or capture page is the most effective approach to using free viral mailer and safelists. Sometimes, before making a purchase, we need to see something several times. With a little work on your part, you may promote to them regularly by creating an email list.

Before you join up for any viral mailers or safelists, you should create a new Gmail account to avoid having your regular email account overloaded with emails. When registering for the viral mailers and safelists, you should use the new email account as your list email address.

After signing up for some of the free viral mailers and safelists and have started to get emails from them, you should take the following steps to configure your Gmail account so you can filter the emails.

Open one of the emails from the viral mailer or safelist.
On the right side of the email, after the star and arrow, click the vertical ellipsis.
Select Filter Messages Like This.
. Select Create Filter.
Typically, I choose Never Send It To Spam, Apply The Label, Skip The Inbox, and Also Apply Filter To Matching Conversations. I specify the name of the safelist it is for when picking a label.

When you need additional credits for a certain safelist or viral mailer, this will simplify things for you.

Traffic Exchanges

Traffic Exchanges allow you to earn credits for looking at other marketers’ sites. You can then use these credits to show your own site. You will want to use a capture page or splash page as you only get a few seconds to capture their attention.

If you are going to use traffic exchanges you will want to make sure you are set up correctly to do your “surfing”.

Create a new folder in your web browser and name it something like Traffic Exchanges. Usually, depending on which browser you are using, you can do this by right-clicking on the bookmarks bar and clicking on New Folder.

Once you’ve bookmarked all the traffic exchanges you wish to use in your folder (I’d recommend no more than 10 to 15 at a time depending on how fast your computer is), you can open them all at once by right-clicking on the folder and selecting Open All.
