How do you create a website for free?  These days a lot of people are wanting to know how to create a website or blog but either they don’t have the money or they don’t want to spend the money to do this.

There are many perks for having your own domain name.  It is something you should really consider once you have the money, especially if you are building an online business.  It does not cost much for a domain name and hosting.

That being said, it is possible to be able to create a website for free.

How Do I Create a Website For Free?

I use Wealthy Affiliate to create my websites.  They have a free starter membership in which you can get a free website.  Once you have the money if you are building an online business I highly suggest upgrading because then you can buy your own domain name.  They use WordPress which is one of the most used blogging platforms.  Blogs are a type of website where the content is updated frequently with newer content usually displayed first.  For a static website, you can also use WordPress.

If you wish to use WordPress for a static website use the Pages selection to make your pages, then just select a static page under Settings – Reading.

If you have your own business or are trying to build a long sustainable business, it would be a good idea to have a blog along with your static website.

Other places to get free websites are weebly.com. wix.com, and yola.  They don’t show you how to build an online business as Wealthy Affiliate does but they are very popular and have their own respectable features.

It is pretty easy to create a website on Weebly because they use drag and drop technology.

Whichever one you decide to use make sure you read the terms and conditions so you know what you can and can not put on your website.

How Do I Create a Blog For Free?

As I mentioned earlier a blog is a type of website.  The most popular places to create a free blog are Blogger and WordPress.  Blogger is part of the Google family and therefore may help you get better rankings in google.

I would go into detail step by step how to make a website for free at each of the places I mentioned but if you go to the sites themselves, most of them already do that.  It is as simple as going to one of the free websites and following the instructions to get your free website set up.
